WHAT IS MEDITATION? - SAHAJA MEDITATION COLORADO

State_of_mind

Some regard meditation as mental concentration on something; others consider that we meditate when we imagine something that gives us peace. These exercises are not really meditation – they are substitutes for meditation because it is normally very difficult to stop thoughts altogether. However, true meditation is a state of profound, deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm and silent, yet completely alert. This state of mind is known as “thoughtless awareness” or “mental silence.”

Usually it is very difficult to be totally in mental silence because our mind is either thinking about the future or the past. The state of thoughtless awareness lies in between the past and the future; being in the state of mental silence is being in the undisturbed present. The mind becomes very relaxed yet completely aware of the surroundings and focused on any tasks one has to perform daily.

In Sahaja Meditation, this state happens naturally as your inner energy rises. When in meditation, attention automatically relaxes, and inner energy softly leads one into the present. Thus one could gain true control over one’s own mind, completely effortlessly. The state of mental silence is just the beginning of an inner transformation that can provide a higher level of awareness. Also, if practiced regularly, eventually it enables us to reach our true human potential naturally.

Sahaja Meditation is the tool that helps achieve this state of awareness and enjoy an exciting journey of self-realization.
